Japan and NATO have formulated a new security cooperation plan and will establish a liaison office in Tokyo by 2024.
NATO will collaborate with Japan in areas such as cyber defense to counter threats from China and Russia.
They will formulate the “ITPP” incorporating specific cooperation measures, with a special emphasis on cyber defense.
Japan has a vulnerable cyber defense system, and NATO’s expertise will be a valuable reference.
Moreover, Japan and NATO will further their collaboration in the field of space, exchanging information on emerging technologies such as artificial satellites and quantum technology.
